I’m a little bummed about the 16gb RAM ceiling, but – baring bad reviews – I think I’m getting a Mac mini & building a lower-cost gaming PC. Should be a better compromise than my 2013 iMac w/ BootCamp has been.

My hopes for today are an ARM Mac mini-tower. I’d settle for an ARM Mac mini with user-serviceable memory and hard disk.

Leute, Leute, Leute! This is not a drill. Sie haben Augustiner-Bräu bei Woodland Wine Merchant! 🍺

Y’all, this really shouldn’t be news, but dehydration is a thing. I’ve started drinking at least 96oz of water a day since Monday and the results are remarkable. Drink more water!

Being engaged in the secular political is important. At the same time I am very happy that God sits on the throne and that Jesus will return. Come Lord Jesus, come.

Cool, cool. The perfect Logos 9 package for me will only cost about ~$4k. 🤦‍♂️ — This, my friends, is why I stick to dead trees from used book stores for my library.

The virus has made this difficult, but you can be assured, the second Virginia’s godmother, grandparents, and church family can all safely come together, she will be baptized. — Why do Anglicans Baptize Babies?

…”Let the children come to me [Jesus], and do not hinder them; for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”

Matthew 19:14 (RSV)

Whoever receives one such child in my [Jesus] name receives me; but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened round his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.

Matthew 18:5 (RSV)

The DNC had months to make their case, but — for me at least — they failed. If I can figure out how to write-in a candidate, I’m voting American Solidarity next week.

Woke police! Have y’all heard of this cat Isaiah? He’s saying some pretty crazy things about “so-called” worker opression. I think he’s Marxist. Needs to be looked in to!

This hobbit is very happy about the iPhone mini!

The partisan divide here is interesting. I find myself following the COVID practices of the left, while intellectually more right-leaning. Truth be told, even understanding risk intellectually, I can’t make a Christian ethical argument for setting COVID precautions aside.

Actual conversation that just happened in my house:

R: “Hey, Oliver, you wanna run around in circles?”

O: “Ya!”

They proceed to run around in circles screaming.

Bringing my first non-Mormon Bible with me on my first official service as a deacon. Thanks be to God!

My first public reading of the Gospel as a deacon involves a lot of people getting killed, so that fun.

“O Lord, I have heard the report of thee, and thy work, O Lord, do I fear. In the midst of the years renew it; in the midst of the years make it known; in wrath remember mercy.” Habakkuk 3:2 (RSV)

“O Lord, guide those who govern us; And lead us in the way of justice and truth.”

Anglicans pray daily for our leaders, friend or foe. We are not to celebrate the sickness of anyone. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

The debate was simply a mirror reflecting back to us what we are. We must repent. Y’all, be kind to one another. “Increase, O God, the spirit of neighborliness among us…”

Dev community gut check: It’s not unreasonable to expect to be able to install development/workflow tools of your choosing on your work machine, right? — Alfred has recently been blocked for me and my background locked & I feel a way about it. 🤓 👨‍💻

Heart and Soul for Whom?

“Our youth will be taught to love America with all of their heart and all of their soul.” - President Trump, White House Conference on American History

Mr. President,

It is not a good thing to teach our children this. Our hearts, bodies, minds, and souls belong only to God. We acknowledge righteously wielded government authority as God’s gift of order. We respect the history and culture of the people we live amongst. We study history and celebrate the moments when God’s grace and providence are most evident. However, the hearts of Christians and the hearts of our children can never belong to America.

“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.” (Deut 6:4-9 KJV)

“Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him [Jesus] a question, tempting him, and saying, Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” (Matt 22:35-40 KJV)

Lord have mercy upon us, and incline our hearts to keep this law. Amen.
